Toen Judith in Tanzania was, lang geleden alweer, had ze meegeholpen in een vrijwilligersproject waarvan de helft van de vrijwilligers Canadees was. Hier was ook het idee ontstaan om ooit naar Canada te gaan. Met sommige van de vrijwilligers had ze nog contact, waaronder Heather.
