Kedi (cat in Turkish)

Istanbul has lots of stray cats but I'd never seen one inside the Aya Sofya before. We also saw a hawk catch a pigeon but let it go when a crowd gathered around. As Julie said, that's life and death in the Aya Sofya.

My friend Julie was my first visitor here in Istanbul. It was so wonderful to see her and to have somebody from home come visit.
