Today I bought my ticket, after getting the green light from work. I decided to change my arrival city to Trivandrum, which is further south and about 50 miles from Varkala, a beautiful beach town where I plan to spend the first 5 to 7 nights. It's been a dream of mine to visit India for about 25 years. Most people look at me funny when I tell them I want to go to India. It's dangerous, there's disease, poverty, even squalor. Why would I want to expose myself to that. The answer is simple, I love color. India is a riot of color. The saris, the painted temples and buses, billboards advertising the latest Bollywood movie. And the culture is so diverse, so many religions, races and tribes living under each others feet. To me it's incredibly fascinating.
