Along the Rose Valley

This region has been settled for many thousands of years. The first group that the locals talk about are the Hittites, followed by various other groups, including early Christians. The holes in the rocks are from these early periods and are early communities. pigeon houses etc. The early communities are rooms in the rocks joined by a series of tunnels. In the underground cities these can extend over 8 levels.
Days 8-10 – Cappadocia

In our last epistle we were about to head off to dinner at a carpet seller’s place and we were a bit wary as to what to expect.
