We drove to Wellington to catch the ferry to Picton on South Island. The views were spectacular. We managed to find a cheap campsite, only $5 if you had a beer! (Mum and Dad did!). The next day we went to the National Kiwi Centre and actaully saw a kiwi, we keep seeing signs for them on the road but have never seen any in the wild.
