The temperature display in the car says -14.5°C as we are about to depart on our trip to Belgium. It's Boxing Day, and we just spent a good twenty minutes trying to free the car of snow and tenacious, solid ice. Ypres belfry
Great Picture! No doubt Bruges should be on any visitor's checklist when going to Belgium. But another nearby gem to discover is definitely Ypres. It thrived in the same era as Bruges did and by consequence has the similar amazing architecture. But on top of that, this charming city is famous for being the epi-centre of the first world war and that would be another reason why Ypres would leave a lasting impression on you.
