First Seat of Government

There is just too much to see in one day in Colonial Williamsburg, which is run by the State of Virginia. The original site is set up as Colonial Williamsburg and is like stepping back into the 18th century. Eighty of the original buildings are open to tour.

From Marion I had a 400 mile trek up to Gloucester, Virginia. I had a full week ahead here too. A few years ago I had read James Michener’s book “Chesapeake” and wanted to go see Chesapeake Bay, in addition to visiting Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown. What was I thinking?
