Tuesday evening I took the overnight bus down to Hervey Bay from Airlie Beach. I was very glad to leave my accommodation in Airlie Beach but now I can say that I’ve had a “true” backpacking experience. The hostel I stayed in had bed bugs, which is actually quite common.
