Morton Bay Fig

These trees, and their relatives, are found all over Australia. They create a soothing parklike setting. This one was in the Royal Botanic Gardens near the Opera House.

It still hasn’t really sunk in that I am actually in Australia. Before I talk my first day down under let me fill you in about the flights quickly. It was a long journey! My total travel time was about 23 hours. It took about 4.5 hours to get to LAX, had a 1.5 hour layover there.
