Edinburgh Castle

Although the snow had stopped for a few minutes by the time we reached the parking lot in front of Edinburgh Castle it was snowing and sleeting again. Our free tour didn't take us any closer to the fortress but over the next four days we saw plenty of the place up close.

Flying over to Scotland was a breeze. Actually there was a definite lack of a breeze as the Gulf Stream seemed to have disappeared. El Niño was wreaking havoc with weather patterns both in the States and throughout Europe.
