Kenya: Orphaned elephants, mutatus and those ghastly flamingos

The David Sheldrick elephant sanctuary was established in the late 1970's to honour the memory of the famous naturalist, David Leslie William Sheldrick. The organisation takes young elephants from all over Kenya, and raises them using techniques and milk formula developed by David's wife Daphne, who was the first person in the world to successfully hand-rear a baby elephant.
