Efter det enorme regnskyl dagen før var vi nødsaget et ikke planlagt stop ved byen Gardiner i Montana lige uden for den nordlige indgang til Yellowstone. Senere på aftenen var himmelen klaret op og vi nød udsigten ind over Yellowstone mens vi indtog vores aftensmad. 13. juli Næste dag var målet at nå til Cody ca. 100 km uden for Yellowstones østlige udgang.
