Wednesday morning we took a surprisingly pleasant 9 hour train ride from Jakarta to Yogyakarta (Jogja). We saw more rice paddies than I can describe, which led me to wonder how on earth rice is so cheap! It looks like back breaking work from what we could see. We leave August 15th for Southeast Asia. The following is our very loose itinerary which I'm sure will change as we go: August 17 - Arrive Jakarta, Indonesia Travel down Java to Yogyakarta - Borobudur Meet Sam Fuchs in Bali Maybe a short trip to either Komodo or Rinca - Komodo Dragons Papua - Baliem Valley trek Maluku - Banda Islands/Kei Islands Borneo - Not sure yet if we are going to the Indonesian or Malaysian side.
