Between 1992 and 1993, after Bosnia and Herzegovina declared independence from Yugoslavia, Mostar was subject to an 18 month siege.

We travelled to Mostar for a couple of reasons. I really loved Bosnia and wanted to see another city besides Sarajevo. I was also interested in seeing the region of Herzegovina.
