Mathematical Bridge  
   

Mathematical Bridge

Built in 1749 but has been re-built on two occasions, in 1866 and 1905. The popular fable is that the bridge was designed by Sir Isaac Newton without the use of nuts or bolts. Stories say that University students attempted to take the bridge apart and put it back together but had to resort to adding nuts and bolts so that the structure would hold.
