Tuesday 10th February 2009 Tom and I decided to hike up Le Madre Springs in the snow. We aimed to find the old hut and mines above the spring head. Red Rock Canyon area was looking stunning as we drove in. The first part of the hike is the 1/4 of the White Rock Hills Loop, so was familiar ground to me. I had been on holidays to Europe and a bit further afield, but never done the proper 'Round the World' backpacking adventure. I started planning for that very event in 2004.
