Lao airlines zet ons netjes af op de luchthaven van Bankok. Blijkbaar verliep het voor ons wat beter dan voor de passagiers in schiphol. Met een uitgekiend openbaar vervoer staan we rond 12 uur in Khao-san-road. Het mekka voor alles wat toerist is in bankok. We boeken een hotel met zwembad op het dak en doen een eerste verkenning.
