On my trip to Bắc Ninh province last week, I bought some Đông Hồ woodblock paintings. This is the most famous traditional painting style in northern Vietnam which has experienced 400-year history. The paintings are drawn on "Dó" (poonah) papers with coloring from pigments in half-baked bricks, tree leaves, ground coal, roots and resin.
