Hanabi festival in Beppu (Christmas Eve)

23rd and 24th December every year, Beppu city has a firework festival down at the beach with market stalls, food and the longest firework display I have ever seen (40 minutes.... must have cost a fortune).
Kyūshū: volcanos and hot-springs.
