From Sakau to Semporna was uneventful, only 3 minibuses and just a bit of roadside waiting. The only attraction in Semporna is the diving; nestled off their coast they have dozens of little islands with beautiful reefs, and steep drop offs, ideal for marine life and coral gardens. The story goes a little like this: I went from high school into post secondary, then straight to a career, which looked like for the rest of my life. So after 7 years in a career job “accounting” I was able to take a real trip, not one of those two week stays in a resort, but an actual backpack trip. I went to South America for 6 weeks, my then girlfriend and I went from Bolivia through Peru, and then up into Ecuador.
