Sunken Garden

Jennie Buchart started this garden in an empty limestone quary. Her husband had a cement business and earlier used the limestone. Her friend said that no one not even Jennie could make something grow in such aweful soil. Jennie saw that as a challenge and started her second garden. Even going to the extreme of hanging off cliffs to plant the ivy.

7/5/2008The ferry, Victoria Express, left dock at 8:15 so I had to up at an ungoddly hour of the morning to go to Canada. It was worth it though. The ride there was 60 min.
