When you need a break from partying, Morro de Sao Paulo is the place to go. We got a cheap flight from Rio to Salvador, worked out cheaper than the bus. The flight(Webjet), got us there in 2 hours as opposed to 25 hours on the bus. Stayed in Salvador for one night, its a big city, don't know what the fuss is all about.
