Palmart Pillbox

There are three of these machine gun pillbox with 14 cm or above 6" of armor plating on the Verdun battlefield. The gun ports could be closed with metal inserts. This one reminds me of an elephant with its trunk on a rock. I don't believe those who had to attack it during the war thought of it that way.
