Typical sand road

Around the edges of this particular road were lots of holes in the sand. We had no idea what made them. Later on in the evening, my fellow traveller solved the problem by taking the perfect photo of a ground squirrel checking to see whether all was clear. I was not so lucky and had to made do with shots of a dung beetle!
Day 3: Windhoek to Ghanzi

March 30th 2008
Dawn broke - but was fixed in time for my alarm to go off at 06h45. I’d slept well, my sleep punctuated by the constant singing of the grasshoppers.
