So beautiful, so cold

My wife and I are immigrants. Ann comes from Sydney, Australia and I come from the Hague, Holland. We have been living for almost forty years in the South of Johannesburg, South Africa. We call ourselves South Africans. In March 2004 and nearing the end of our working days, we discovered we both harbored secret wishes to see China. One night in bed, my wife saw on the inside of her eyes the almost unbroken landmass between SA and China and realized China could be reached by car. That´s where it started.
