This region of Quebec is most dear to my heart because it is where I was born. I hail from a very small village called Pointe-à-la-Garde. It is at the entrance to the Baie des Chaleurs,(roughly translated as Bay of Heat), so named by Jaques Cartier in 1534 as he sailed into said bay, probably on July 15th.
