This is one of the mud huts, some are painted and several are made of modern cinderblocks. Traditional roofs are thatches, but tin is easier, cheaper, and needs less maintenance.

I am a designer currently living and working in upstate NY. But this blog tracks, has tracked and will track my travels across this great big blue planet of ours.
The first group of entries follows my trip through Japan, China, and India in the summer of 2007, the second group are from my semester abroad in South Africa and my travels in southern and central Africa.
