Varanasi, the Road to Nepal and the Journey so far February 7th 2008 Varnasi and the Ganges it borders, is one of the oldest cities in the world and unfortunately pretty much a cesspool. The city can't cope with the number of people in it and the rickshaw drivers almost rival Delhi in their insistant hounding. Hellooo, it's two rather adventurous travelers from the bonny streets of Edinburgh. Taking our place in the great melee of backpackers, travelers and touts to sample just how many different animals we can eat. This trip of gargantuan proportions is sure to alter the very fabric of the Earth and we apologise to all the trees our journey is bound to kill.
