Destination Normandy

The ship sailed back to the beaches of Normandy for the 50th anniversary of D-Day. This plaque remembers that journey.

I had seen the submarine that sits very near the Jeremiah O' Brien, but had not seen this Liberty Ship in previous trips. I found it interesting to look around on board the ship, from the very complex engine room, to the crew quarters, to the 3" and 5" guns mounted on the bow and stern.
