Cahal Pech 1 B.C.

This is the oldest fully excavated part of Cahal Pech. The Mayans typically built on top of what the previous rulers built, and so the tallest structures are the newest structures.

Andrew and I spent yesterday afternoon and evening relaxing. We climbed up the bird watching tower and spotted many birds, although the only one we recognized was the bird of paradise. No toucans!
