Ein neues Jahr hatte begonnen. Mehr als 16 000 Kilometer von zu Hause entfernt. Es war wie nach Geburtstagen auch: fühlt sich nicht anders an als vorher. Der New Year's Day ist auch in Australien ein Feiertag. Die Aussies lieben Feiertage, und wenn ein solcher ist, haben selbst Restaurants oftmals geschlossen.
