Our 1st class cabin

The special 'toy train' took us up the mountain to Matheran. It was small ... holding less than 50 people. We paid extra whopping $4 to get a 'first' class car, which didn't seem to be much different than the 2nd class car, maybe a little roomier ;)

We traveled to a little hill station about 100 km east of Mumbai. This little hill town doesn't allow any type of motorized transport, a great respite from the traffic of Mumbai!
