Mean old Mr Palin

I know it's not his fault but I was really annoyed when we were kicked out of the autograph queue by his publishers because we didn't have a hardback copy of his latest book for signing. I was also really disappointed to learn that he didn't do his Himalaya journey (and perhaps several others) in one go, but did it in sections over a period of time, flying back and forth from Britain every time they needed to shoot a new section. While his talk was amusing, the two disappointments mentioned above meant I lost a hero that night and learned valuable lessons about the worlds of publishing and television. I could have cried.

We stopped in Auckland for two reasons.
