Making the best of Caracas

We were told that Caracas was big, ugly, unfriendly and dangerous. I am sure it is all those things but we went along determined to make the best of our time there. We were staying at the Hotel Floresta at Altamira. We had an 8th floor room with a great view. And a fridge! Our first job on arriving was to book a hotel near the airport for the night of the 30th.
