the tallest wood church is in Surdesti - Maramures
St Georges’ Cathedral, being built in 1894 is 143ft tall (43.5m) . St Mike and Gabriel been built in 1721 and is 72m tall. http://www.virtourist.com/europe/romania/maramures/02.htm
