Throwing sand!

As they disguise their nest, they often throw sand everywhere! This is not a picture that would normally be taken, as a white light flash is believed to disorient the turtles. However, this one had some pretty nasty cuts on her neck and head that we were trying to document...and she decided to throw some sand at me in the process! (think I might still have some embedded in me hair and ears.... haha!)
