For many years, I’ve been drinking Saigon Red beer, mixed with 7-Up, at 169 Bui Vien Street in the Pham Ngu Lao Ward of Ho Chi Minh City. Until recently, the establishment was called La Vang, but now it goes by the name of Bonjour. I prefer the former moniker because it is Vietnamese, unpretentious and full of meaning.
