Fantastic
So glad to see a blog focused on these beautiful birds! We only have brown pelicans (I believe) in my part of the world, but the Australian variety are far more eye catching! Your captured the 'dance' beautifully!

A very personal blog Sylvia...the longer I stayed the more fascinated I became. Love your perspective of the dance for this pic which to me was a synchronised bow. The "It's Showtime" and the beak contortion pics were taken on continuous mode so are in order as they unfolded. I've never seen these Pelican shows before so glad you appreciated them.

One of the birds I actually like
We are not bird watchers. We rarely go on birding trips or visit national parks primarily known for their birds. However, there are some birds we really like. Birds of pray, flamingos, penguins and pelicans are among them. We would love to have seen the pelicans you saw. There are a few more birds we find interesting but after that we prefer seeing other things. That's a really fun photo you took by the way. /Ake

I have never had the patience to be a wildlife photographer, Ake but their beauty has always captured me even if patience has not. May this blog open your Swedish eyes to the little things of Nature's glory that are all around you...and may the birds reveal their quirky characters before departing in flight. Birds of prey, flamingoes, penguins and pelicans...great start...much more to enthuse as you discover!
