Looted tombs

These tombs in the canyon wall above the Urubamba River are part of a large area of Pre-Inca tombs that have all been looted. I still cannot wrap my mind around how somebody could be so disrespectful of the dead, especially when they were probably the ancestors of the looters. Who would desecrate a grave like that?
