The food distribution event was staged on the community soccer field. After we had lunch together, I took a could minutes to take photos of the town before we left. It is clearly a place where people depend on agriculture. Growing your own food sounds lovely to city people who have little backyard gardens, but really this is just subsistence farming. During the pandemic, they have not been able to leave to buy anything to supplement what they grow. That means they subsist on only potatoes and corn.
