Welcomed in Mayubamba

The mayor of Paruro prepared a lavish welcome for us when the Covid Relief Project went to take food to the village of Mayubamba. These young women gave all of us roses, beautifully handmade baby alpaca scarves and handmade hats and bags also. We have never had a reception like that before! It seemed over the top to me, but I doubt that the community has had a happy reason to gather together in months and the day felt very festive.
