Mossel Bay

Another town with a long history. Bartholomew Diaz landed here in 1488 after rounding the Cape and became the first recorded European to sail to the east coast of Africa. Mossel Bay became a valuable port of call for water and fresh foods for subsequent spice traders who followed.

After a busy week in Hermanus with relatives Gaye and Jonathan we took a leisurely 10 day road trip along the Garden Route to Port Elizabeth.
