Sea Day, Tasman Sea - December 14th - 12:11am Well today didn’t start out much different from yesterday. Read a bit, waited for Lee to finish work so we could grab some food upstairs. We grabbed some grub and came back to relax. We watched some Amazing Race and took a nap. Lee was still sleeping but I figured I’d get up to the gym since I wouldn’t be able to get there for the next 2 days. Lee decided to tell me what my surprise excursion was. We are going on the overnight tour ‘Explore Overnight Milford Sound to Dunedin’. We drove to the inland of New Zealand’s sound island, over night in Queenstown, see a sheep dog in action and sheep shearing demonstration, the next day heading back to Dunedin. I’m very excited to ... read more

Somewhere over the Pacific Ocean -December 5th / 6th 2008 3:15am Not sure where I am but we or still moving. I guess that’s all the sleep I’m going to get thanks to the little kid screaming at the top of her lugs on the other side of the plane…how I love kids… I decided to start a movie to drown out the kids screaming so I put Tropic Thunder on. I couldn’t even get 30mins into it before I had to turn it off because it was so bad. I next decided to try Wanted with Angelina Jolie. I’ll let you know how this one works out. 6:00am Well we have 2 hours left of the flight and I’ve had just about enough. Wanted was good but my legs are starting to cramp up. Breakfast ... read more

Arrived Pago Pago, American Samoa after a super rough boatride from (hell) Apia, Samoa. Yes, we could REALLY feel the big Pacific waves on this boat trip..Of course Borre slept the entire way, but Marianne stayed awake listening to the puking from the locals almost the entire way...bad stuff.. The boatride took us 8 hours in the middle of the freaken night, meaning again, the Pacific style!(everything HAVE to depart during the night here somehow, boats, flights etc... stupid stuff! At last in American Samoa, we found a crazy bus (modified pick up truck) with killer sound system, that drove us to Alega Beach and Tisa's barefootbar. What a great place to crash for a week. A real pacific place made entirely by nature, a beautiful beach, 2 watch dogs (Visa & Vailima) and the best ... read more

Wow what an Awesome week. If you want to go somewhere to get the feel of paradise than Hawaii is the answer. There is nothing like it that we know of in Australia. The week didn't go super fast either like you normally feel when away on holiday. Everything was really relaxed and laid back, we were able to eat out at a different restaurants every night or a buffet meal if you wanted too, then we just walked out without paying (as it comes in the price of the ship) So that will be difficult now to not want to just walk out when at a restaurant. We boarded the boat Saturday 22nd Nov 1pm, that would of been Sunday 10am to you all. Sailed out at 8pm from Honolulu Oahu. Sunday - Monday was ... read more

Rahnee's in town from Sydney.....working on some project, but with time enough to join a 5 night cruise with me around Vietnam, Sanya (in china) and Hongkong. We took an early flight to Singapore where we were met by our travel agent who then took us to the pier to board our boat. MV Virgo is a huge cruise liner, the biggest in the fleet run by the same group who owns the Genting Resorts. I have long been curious about this cruise liner which offers 2 night to week long cruises around Asia. There was one I particularly liked which sails to Phuket, Langkawi Island, etc. But instead, we are joining this cruise which sails out of Singapore and calls on Ho Chi Minh, Sanya and Hongkong. The package we got allows for another night's ... read more

We are still traveling around the great Pacific ocean and really enjoying this part of the world. After spending a reeeeeally relaxing week on the beautiful Bounty Island in Fiji, we continued “operation see-all-of-pacific” and jumped on a plane going to Samoa. Due to stupid flight schedules in the Pacific we arrived in Samoa at 5 AM after being up all night! Being really extreme tired, we hired a taxi to take us the 2 hour drive to Lalomanu beach. We slept the entire way….. A good thing was, since we crossed the dateline, we “woke up” to the same Saturday again, making us enjoy this day 2 times in 2 days..kind of great since Saturdays are a feast day in most places around the Pacific! The gorgeous Lalomanu beach is situated on the south east ... read more

Hi everyone this is the first time I have used this blog but am quite excited about that as to what will actually happen- anyways we have just got back from an 11 day cruise on Rhapsody of the Sea of Royal Caribbean LInes- or Caribbbbean as the americans call it- to Hamilton Island, Cairns, Port Douglas, Cooktown and back to Sydney. Interesting cruise- Royal Caribbean were quite good but wouldn't rave about them- everytime you turned around they were charging you extra- the shore excursions were outragously expensive and the crew didn't know much about anything to do with Australia unfortunately. On the positive side the ship is really quite impressive- we had a junior suite which was good- the cabin crew and waiters are attentive and the nightly entertainment was quite good.. Anyway wouldn't ... read more

On our "operation see all of the Pacific",the journey continued further from Vanuatu with a week stop-over in Fiji before heading for Samoa. Since Børre has been island jumping the islands of Fiji a couple of times before, we decided to find a small island and just relax for the week, and enjoy the great island-life. The tiny little island of Bounty, were the televisionshow"Celebrity Love Island"is filmed became our destination. Not easy to make a choice, when Fiji consists of some 332 islands with white sandy beaches, crystalline seas, world class snorkeling, diving and surfing. And all of this make Fiji a magnet for travelers from all over the world. Arriving Nadi late at night meant we had to spend the first night on the main island Viti Levu. We found a shitty (but cheap) room at ... read more
