Wednesday- Day Twelve Sailing from Busan South Korea to Tianjin China in the Korean strait and Yellow sea. 2am this morning our clocks went back an hour to get us back to China time, so at 7am I had run out of sleep and we were ready for breakfast before 8am. We thought dining at Carmen's today would be nice with fresh pastries, tomato juice, omelets, and nice fruit on offer which is not available in the casual dining area. Little did we know we were to experience something akin to Fawlty Towers. 45 minute wait for cooked food, all without some ingredient we had ordered, and the waiter wiping his brow, looking harassed and finally telling us "the kitchen had fallen to pieces". Sunday-Day Two of Cruise sailing on the Yellow Sea and into The Korean Strait. Royal Caribbean line run many ships and Voyager of the Sea is one of the biggest. We have 1165 crew on board from many countries. Most of the staff seem to be Chinese, Indian or Pilipino, but as the clientele come from all over the globe so too do the staff. Our room attendant's name is Hitesh and he's from Bombay. His job is to wait on us hand and foot, keep our rooms clean, basically our own personal butler albeit shared with 9 other rooms. (Day 144 on the road)After two and a half wonderful months spent in China and zig-zagging almost the entire country in that time, the two days spent on the ferry to Japan gave me a good chance to reflect. I am fascinated by this beautiful country, so I have compiled a short list about what makes this country special for me. Also, on one of my last days in China I had received a few nasty and threatening comments on my blog from Chinese people who had read my blog and apparently were not happy about some of the entries I had made.
