Today we had an "almost" uneventful 5 hour journey via Interstate motorcoach from Dunedin to Christchurch.

Again we had a lazy morning, then found a place to have brunch at the Octogon ( city center and octogon shaped). More amazing food and continuing to collect fat molecules! Taxi to the bus station and left around 1pm. As we traveled north we viewed mountains to our left and clear views of South Pacific Ocean to our right. We watched ominous clouds form ahead of us and thought there may be a good storm awaiting us. And, boy was there. We hit rain and then hail head on. It was so incredibly loud I took video just to record the sound of the hail pounding the roof. Many cars were pulled over parked under trees and the cows and sheep were even running for cover (poor animals had no where to go). We eventually drove out of the storm and continued on our journey with no more excitement.

We checked into the Sudima Hotel in Christchurch just by the airport. We have one more glorious day in NZ 😞
