Hello All! And especially to my sweetheart Shann whose birthday is today!!! Happy Birthday my love!! I hope you have the best day possible!!! (without me that is) Getting back out of the Highlands was hairy yesterday. It seemed like the mountains would not give us up! The plane on Friday left and went back to the coast because of bad weather, the first flight on Saturday turned and went away becuase of more bad weather, but we prayed and yet again God answered by landing the plan and getting us back. Because I (Brian) had to leave early on sunday morning, we all meet at the beach for a little send off on Saturday. It was very hard to go. I was met at the airport by Luke and Danny who were up since 4am ... read more

Hello everyone, This is Greg. We’re finally back from the Highlands (the mountainous region in central PNG)!!!!! We were not able to upload to the blog while we were out there but now, from Port Moresby, it is no problem. I want to send a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my son Jared who is now 6 years old. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARED!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! Our trip was quite eventful but God worked out everything for His glory. As you know our seats got cancelled on the flight out there so we had to fly into Mt. Hagen. You already know how God worked that whole situation out but it happened again on the way back and God again worked the whole situation out (someone else can fill you in about that one). We then went over ... read more

It was great to be able to welcome the rest of the team back from the highlands today! There had been much anticipation about their return, in part because they were delayed from returning on the scheduled day. Many prayers had been said for their time there, and for their safe return, and they were answered. From all accounts, it was a great experience - we look forward to hearing more. During the week Pete and I spent in Moresby, we spent our time participating in Bible studies together with Tony, Tasha and Luke and the new (and old) friends they've been reaching out to, as well as having some extra hang time with those we have been meeting here along the way. I feel like we have really been able to get to know people ... read more

Hi Everyone, A quick update on our progress today. We have started our journey in the Highlands, but not quite as we expected. We arrived at the airport to fly to Gumine find out that we had been bumped because of a funeral. We were told the next flight would be on Thursday which was the day we were suppose to come back to Port Moresby. We started praying and told the man at the ticket counter that we needed to be up there sooner because we were only here for a short time. A little later (that's about an hour or two in PNG) he came back and said that they would fly us to Mt. Hagen in the western area of PNG and put us up in a hotel, get us transport the following ... read more

We have continued to have a tremendous time with the church here in PNG - we very much feel like family and are starting to become more familiar with the Port Moresby geography and pace of life. The brothers and sisters here have continued to extend their hearts to us in a phenomenal way. Yesterday the conference culminated with a very inspiring worship service attended by people from several parts of the country. We had a great hangout time with the teens, Tony and Tasha during the latter part of the afternoon - involving a lot of laughter and pizza (yes, pizza!). Today the mission team has split up to spend time on various projects here - another visit to six mile school, Bible studies with friends, and a visit to one of the local hospitals. ... read more

The final day of the conference was so intense! The fellowship was a buzz and tons of friends came to church. Even if we were tired from the day before, we were all ready to give even more! I preached a lesson on the salvation story and many hearts were moved. 29 people are setup to study the Bible this week and we are going to be involved in many of the studies. After church, we had a nationwide leaders meeting and discussed plans for the future. Everyone want to be unified and better connected. They also want to see more and more Americans come back and spend time here in PNG. After that we got a chance to spend time with the up and coming leaders, most of whom are teens. The 10 baptized teens ... read more

Today was the second day of the countrywide conference. People came from many cities all over PNG. Yesterday Brian preached an awesome opening message and he also did the men’s message today (we separated men and women). Tasha and Cathy gave the message for the women. We had many breakout sessions that were taught by our mission team. I taught a message for the singles group. Brian worked with the teens and Bruce and Annabel led the session with the marrieds. After the classes we had a volleyball tournament and then had a huge feast with all kinds of food. I am continually amazed at how hospitable and generous everyone has been. The church has been extremely warm and Tony and Tasha have been such great hosts. There are very few people with cars and Tony ... read more
