Edit Blog Post

Well tomorrow (Monday) we part company with Richard. He has been a loyal companion around, up and down the South Island.... covering over 3000km and 19 nights of temperatures that have required thermals and heating (with the exception of three milder nights just needing heating!)....
We have seen nature at its best... stunning scenery of mountains (with and without snow), endless coastline of rugged rocks to beautiful sandy, to experiencing nature at its worst... if only from a distance. Since the 7.8 Kaikoura earthquake last Monday, New Zealand has experienced 4251 more earthquakes....over 50 of those with a magnitude greater than 5. In Kaikoura Harbour boats are beached on rocks where the sea bed has lifted over 2 metres. All sobering stuff for these two Brits on their hols!
Our overriding memories are of stunning scenery, warm and generous people and just a little eccentricity thrown in.
Early flight Tuesday to Singapore via Sydney. Will blog if wifi allows...

what an adventure
Christine, this blog has been enthralling. Your trip has been such an adventure, so glad you are both unscathed from the tragedies that have unfolded around you. Safe journey home. Looking forward to a proper catch up. Rowland

Final Reflections
Well, finally managed to put a comment up and you'll be on your way back! Have a safe trip and thanks for the fab blog. Just to warn you both, you'll still need your thermals and heating when you get back here. Just hold on to the blue sky memories! Lots of love, Shaz. x
