You are probably wondering where my reference to Middle Earth fits in, but Queenstown was actually used for a large amount of the Lord of the Rings films. Once we arrived, looking over the misty mountains, it was clear why this special place was picked to represent the magical kingdom of J.R.R Tolkien's stories. Rosalie and I mounted horses and traveled through New Zealand's most dramatric scenery, passing its towering mountains, ancient beech forests and glacial fed rivers.
