So yea, next stop was Arrow Town and I think it's one of my favourite places...ever!!! It's the cutest little town with boutique style shops, an old sweet shop, a hotel that could pass as someone's house and lots of historic character. It's autumn here so it's pretty cold and it just reminds me of such a Christmas feel, so strange with it only being April! We had a walk around the town and stopped at a gorgeous little pub/restaurant for some mulled wine. And it was so do yummy, Callahan you would have loved it! We have a winter ritual of mulled wine at lunch in London and it made me think of our lunch breaks lol. I could have sat there forever with beautiful mountains in the background with snow on top, it was just paradise. Brad ordered some food too and it was good home made yummy food. We sat there just enjoying the scenery and taking in everything around us. It was a place we both said my mum would love everything about it reminded me of her. It was how I imagine whistler to be and brad said it was the same sort of feel and
atmosphere, just smaller. We had another walk after lunch and I got a crepe from a French restaurant only French people worked there and it really did feel like you could have been in France as you stepped inside. We had to leave though as we were staying in Queenstown for the night but both want to go back on the way back from Queenstown we loved it so much!
We arrived in the afternoon and e weather was lovely, so we found a campsite and parked up and went into town. It's great here has a real feel of a ski town, Brad said it's more like Whistler here. We walked around the town and came down to the lake and sat out and had a drink looking out over it and the mountains. So relaxing, we could have sat there all evening!! It was pretty much freezing though so we moved on and came across a bar with a big log fire outside so parked up there for a bit before heading back to buy some dinner and cook it. We found a grocery opposite the campsite and bought up a little feast chicken kebab for starter
and steak for main!! It was so good, there's kitchens at the sites so brad cooked up a storm it was great, we definitely have got into the swing of this camping thing, no more eating like paupers for us lol!!
On our way to Queenstown from Arrow Town we drove place a place that does jet boats along the Shotover River so we booked it up for the next day so we had an early night ready for the next morning. Our third night wasn't that bad it's so much better in our new sleeping bags, a lot warmer but it rained all night heave rain all you could hear was tha rain coming down on the van all night!!! We woke up and it was still raining but we headed to the jet place to see if it was still on. I wasn't in the best mood because as most of you know I hate doing anything in the rain lol. But our slot was still on and the weather eased off so off we went. And my mood soon disappeared! It was so much fun going in between rocks along a really narrow gorge, you thought
you would crash into the rocks! The 360 degree turns were so amazing too seeing the mountains all around us whilst in a jet boat along a stunning river! I'm so glad we did it! It was actually the company Kate and William went on just a week before in their trip to New Zealand so it was definitely the best one to go with! We did it in good timing too as literally straight after the rain started again and it didn't stop all day!! Brad was going to do white water rafting but it was called off because of he water level, so we didn't really do too much in the afternoon!
It eased off by the evening though and we headed to the cinema and saw Spiderman2 even the cinema was small and cosy! Then we totally cheated and got dominos for dinner (no good for the Vegas diet lol) and was in bed asleep by half 10 again lol. We had an early night though as this morning is our SKYDIVE!!! I'm writing this at the base point of where we are going to be doing the dive. We are both pretty nervous and it's
delayed so we are having to wait around not helping the nerves really lol. Sooo.....I'll update you on the next entry of our little adventure!
Love B&K xxxxxxxx
