Edit Blog Post
For all those who don't realise,I've just uploaded loads of pics from the past few weeks and put them into the appropriate blogs!
I sit right now in Nelson Public Library (man is it weird to be back in one of these places after so long) They have self issue here, and I haven't heard one person grumbling about it, and the computers EVEN have SD card slots, woah!) but enough about the library, what've I been up to?
We left River Valley and headed towards Wellington. This was going to be a long bus journey, so Relle said we could each choose three songs on our Ipods and not have to listen to her music all the way. This was because she likes to know what the kids listen to these days. She likes to know, but evidently doesn't like to hear, as she skipped one of my songs, slated all the drum n bass, and allowed all the mellow/bland music that some of the others put on. Not that i'm bitter or anything!
I had booked to spend a couple of nights in Wellington, but hadn't booked a room and so ended up spending one night in the YHA
and one night in Wellywood backpackers. The second hostel was better. Not quite as modern, but not quite as sterile either. The first night consisted of me getting drunk and finding a club with good music to go to. It worked out well. We went to one club in search of drum n bass and found electro, which was great as it was empty and the dj played all my requests, and then told us where to go to find dnb. This club was also good and Nic and I had an awesome evening!
Next day I was hungover and after checking out of one hostel and into the other I went to see the museum. Spent a couple of hours wandering around there....interesting place, but not for one nursing a headache and so i went for a nap! Chilled out in the evening, went to the cinema :-)
The following day we got up early for the ferry across to South Island. Spent the day travelling really, although when we made it to Nelson I walked up to the centre of New Zealand and cooked a couple of people a stir fry. They were impressed with my skills, woop
Nicola and I
Drum n Bass lovers! :-) I was sad to see yet more people from my original bus moving on...but excited as i had a good day planned the next day.
It was an early start for the bus to the Able Tasman National Park. We were delivered to "G-Dog" our guide for the day who got us kitted up quickly and then we got a water taxi to our start point. We paddled around for a bit, saw some lovely scenery and met some seals and penguins. By the time we got to lunchtime, i was starving and knackered so we had a well earned picnic on the beach. After our rest we got back in the kayaks, pulled them all together and sailed to another beach, where we played ultimate frisbee. My team won! woop! Then we paddled back to get our stuff. We had an awesome day and got some good exercise!
Today I've been really really lazy, but its been nice to rest some times! Tomorrow I head to Westport I think!
will post the pics for this blog when i next get to a decent computer!
